SALIENT STILLS PRESENTS DIGITAL MEDIA: THE INS AND OUTS AT LEVA

BOSTON, MA, November 18, 2009 - Salient Stills, a leading video forensics and image enhancement software company, today announced it will present on Digital Media: The Ins and Outs at the LEVA (Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association) Annual Training Conference this week in Ft. Worth, Texas. CTO Jeff Hunter is addressing the subject from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, during the Video Evidence Symposium.

More and more frequently, forensic video specialists are called upon to analyze digital video and audio files that may not easily import to a forensic system. Hunter's session will review how PCs handle digital files, and explore the digital representation of video and audio, video and audio codecs, media file formats and the facilities both within forensic applications and within PCs that play a role in dealing with media data.

Salient Stills is also publicly demonstrating its VideoFOCUS and VFSource video forensics systems. Widely used by local, state, national and international law enforcement agencies, VideoFOCUS and VFSource dramatically improve the ability to capture and export fuzzy or grainy video from videotape, closed circuit TV systems, digital video cameras, cell phones and proprietary DVR formats. The systems generate higher resolution stills and videos to help identify suspects and produce other leads.
